home server

    i have an old 350 mhz pc w/ 8gig hd and windows 98 os. i would like to set it up on my belkin wired network . what is the best way to set up a home server, (software?). is windows ok or would linux be better? i have mandrake 9.1 and suse 7.0 on cd rom. i would like to host a website on this machine. should i set it up outside the network? is that the dmz or something?
