I think I hit a bad link. Whenever I re-start my comp, my homepage comes up as a porn page. I change it back to msn.com and apply it and restart and there's the porn page again. I have no idea what to do. I checked for viruses and came up clean. What happened and what can I do? Pleeeeze help.

Thank you for your ideas. Where would I find the "Msconfig>startup" ? See I'm really comp illiterate.
Also downloading other stuff and using it properly is kind of iffy for me. If I can't fix it myself w/o downloads I think I just going to wipe out the hard drive content altogether. The thing is I'm working with a time constraint. The page that opens isn't really a porn page and the address is just numbers but when I go to the properties it says Teenage Euro-nymphos... or something like that. My 32 year old (newly pregnant) wife would be sad if she saw it and its just a matter of time before she re-starts the comp. If I can't fix it by tomorrow I have to dump the lot. Which brings me to my other question.
There's software that erases your hard drive completely isn't there? My wife did it once but I wasn't sure how.

Thanks again...keep the ideas coming...

Select Start, Run, type: MSCONFIG, and select the Startup tab. It will show you the started tasks at boot up. Uncheck any specious items. You can recheck them if you find you needed one of them.
