    Rhett

I couldn't get to Windows-help, which is the site we sometimes go to, if TSG is ever down. We did on the first time it did, so off I went to see if anyone was there. Couldn't get in :(

Oh, well, at least we're all up and running again. And I was gonna spend all day catching up. Its 4pm now

    :D

When I couldn't get in last night, I was forced to retire early, and actually get a good nights sleep. Since I couldn't get in this morning, I actually did some housework, and made my wife fresh squeezed Grapefruit juice which she loves. Figured it was the worm because of how long TSG was down. Darn I hate it when I can't get here. Glad we can play again:)

There are still a handful of sites that I can't get to, although naturally most major sites (google, cnn, etc -- i.e. companies with MONEY) were corrected much earlier than others (i.e. me!)... However, two of the sites that I can't get into are run by Tucows... weird. Anyway, glad to have things back here at least. :)

Out of the 25 sites that I always visit each day, TSG was the only one I couldn't get into :( Glad we are back :)

It really depends, I have heard from a few collegues (been up on the phone since 3:00am in the morning because of this) that a lot of sites in California were effected. A lot of other sites were effected of course, but a majority of the sites were in California. But all of my websites (some hosted here in Arizona, others in Florida) were not effected at all. So am I happy in terms of that :)

I ran right over to Windows-Help and got right on, but I didn't see any members so I scooted out, must depend on where you were as to where you could go !

I have noticed that cyber-tech has a random forum, possibly a better place to meet in a crisus :) as Arie doesn't care for horseplay :)...Rhett http://www.cybertechhelp.com/

Thanx for the link Rhett. Looks like another place I can join out of hand.;)

I also could not get here Yesterday morning, but was able to join my normal online Tank Game Wulfram II, with no slowdowns, which would be unusual, considering the impact that Slammer bug had, 'Slammer' worm slows Internet traffic.

Anyway, since we've been discussing things like IRC or other meeting points over the last while, I decided to see what I could do. I tried a free service to add Chat to a free site, and the chat is all hosted on the chat provifders site, so I don't think there will be a problem with traffic and bandwidth issues.

If anyone wants to take a look at it, it's a real basic page with a chat window. You don't have to do anything until the chat window opens, and you then insert your nickname to start chatting. There's no moderation, or Ops, or anything. See if we can do something liek this as an alternate or home away from home type of thing.
