We are using hostheaders for our websites (for transparency reasons ... so if the website changes server, the user is unaware as no server name is mentioned in url).. The only problem is the sites are taking approx. 15 seconds to load. We do not want to add any entries to local host / lmhost files (would involve visiting every desktop), and we have already placed entries into WINS and DNS. Website is running on W2K advanced and desktops are Windows 98.... Anyone any idea's how to speed up access to these websites using host headers?

Ever tried just the web servers IP address? Then it won't have to be resolved by WINS or a DNS server.
