I have an hp pavillion dv5000 laptop running windows xp media center edition 2005. On 4/22 I began reciving the following messages; roxio shared\9.0\sharedcom\roxwatch tray9.exe and roxwatch9.exe. I am unable to connect to the internet expolrer, nor am I able to run my virus software. When I attempt to do a system restore the message appears "System Restore not able to protect your computer, Please restart your computer, and then run Rystem Restore again" . Each time I attempt to nothing happens. I have also attempted to use safe mode to run the previous mention to no avail. How do I fix this? Help! Please.

All,
The problem as it turned out was a faulty update from McAfee that affected a "small percentage of McAfee users" Alert:5958 DAT Update Issue. My computer is up and running. Thanks for your help. bmegphig
