    Hello,

I use a Nokia Lumia 640 mobile phone on which I have some photographs (.TNL) and videos (.MP4) of my house and dog.

I accidentally clicked on "Open with Adobe" (or words to that effect) when trying to set a default application (VLC Media Player) to open those files. Now I can't open them because Adobe says it is unable to do so and is the default program.

Any advice on how I may change the default program to VLC Media Player would be gratefully accepted.

    Thanks in advance.

    Lindsay

The only way I know is uninstall both adobe reader & VLC player
reboot the phone, that is shut down, remove the battery for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, then reinstall VLC player, try to open the image file & it should ask you " what program do you want to open this with "
Then once you have them associated with VLC player, then reinstall Adobe reader.

Windows phone is a pain when trying to change default settings & now Microsoft are no longer updating it & only issuing security fixes, it is extremely unlikely that they will ever fix this, despite it being asked for since the early days of W8.1 phone

    Hello dvk01,

Thank you for your reply; I appreciate it!

I was afraid of that response, however, and see there is no real alternative. I suppose I'll pay a bit more attention to what I'm doing next time.

    Thank you, once again.
