How can I reset the startup password?

    I was letting someone look at my new notebook and somehow the created a passowrd and they don't know what it is. I kow there was a way to do it with XP but I cant remember. Any help is appreciated

    im pretty sure there is a free version of similar software somewhere

    Was this person set up as an administrator? They changed the administrator passoword? Opps. Can you contact them and get it from them? Otherwise, this is sticky....The User Account Control is pretty tight in Vista....

    You may need to contact Microsoft for access...seriously....
