I recently bought a computer with Vista loaded up. I added a dual boot so that I have Vista on C: and XP on E:. is there a way to run a program file, say Visual Studio, that was installed on the C: drive (Vista), when I am booted up on XP, or vice versa? Thanks.

No. Thats the purpose of the dual boot. If you have programs on either, which you want to cross transfer, then why not try installing them on both OS's. Compatibility mode nearly always works for most from XP to Vista.

Thanks, I was just trying to avoid reinstalling a whole bunch of programs if it was possible.

You can't share programs with any dual-boot system. Programs have to be installed on each system. This is true even if you installed two instances of the exact same operating system.
