Ken,

The computer is clean from malware and it seems that the issue has to do with drivers. We tried several things regarding Microsoft Teredo Tunnelling Adapter, but the problem is still there. Since drivers area is not my strength, I'll let Macboatmaster know about what we did.

Okay, Dr. M. Thank you for your help.

Please note: When I was reinstalling the security programs after I had disabled them in order to run a System Restore, I was pitched on a driver update program. I investigated it (which is why you found a Driver Update program on my computer) but I did not want it when I realized that it was a program they charged for, so I didn't pursue it and purchase it. However, in the initial scan they advised before they tried to sell it to me, the scan program said there were 35 outdated drivers in my computer programming. As I said, I did not buy the driver update program and did not make any changes, but I wondered if it's helpful for you to know that they said there were so many outdated drivers.

I appreciate all your help.

Ken,

DriverUpdate by Slimware Utilities is a software classed as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and bloatware. It is advertised as a free software that can take care of your system issues and update your drivers. Once it is downloaded and installed, it will trigger false warnings and notices and will prompt the user to perform an action to fix things, such as updating drivers, fixing registry warnings, etc.. However, as soon as the user initiates the process, it will ask you to get the software registered and pay for it.

That's why I asked you to uninstall it.

Something we can try now:

FRST fix

I keep forgetting that you have Windows 7.

Let's go this way:

Run SFC:
Code:
sfc /scannow
  • Let the scan finish.
  • You will normally get one of the following results:
    Code:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation
Please post the result you got (a screenshot).

I haven't been using the computer except to participate in this thread. However, I'll do that now and let you know if things have improved.

I'm not sure things are totally back to normal. I've been testing, and I've only had the "You're not connected to a network" message once, but video content is still not loading correctly (either loads very slowly, but most often does not finish loading at all.)
