I got a HP Pavilion ze4900 notebook series when I initially went to college, and now I'm wanting to make it run smoothly enough to play Warcraft and watch videos. The stock graphics card in this labtop just doesn't do the trick, are there any graphics cards out there that are compatible that way I don't have to buy a new motherboard also?

The short answer is you can't. There are very few laptops that have upgradable video. You can certainly forget about a new MB, laptops aren't like desktops. If you really need better graphics, I'd suggest that you need a new laptop. It is likely that other things are also affecting game play on the machine, laptops in general aren't well suited for heavy duty game play.
