how can you compress a 20 gig folder full of music down to like 5 gigs or even smalle

    or larger just get it to compress alot down to put it on like a dvd or soemthing ,just to have it as a backup ,can this be down with any kind of software like winzip ,winrar,etc anyone know thx...

    of music - which format, MP3? Then no. MP3 is a compressed format, you won't be able to compress it with Winzip or any other compression utility (well a few KB maybe).
    To get the MP3s to fit on a single DVD (why not on 4?), you will need to resample them in an audio edting prog and save them at a much smaller bitrate, etc - of course doing this would make them sound like s##t!

    i figured it wasnt gonna work and that yes i would have to use 4 dvd's ,and yes they are mp3's thx anyway appreciate the quick help on this
