How does Microsoft count Windows versions to get to windows 7?

Win 95 = Windows 4
Win 98 = Windows 5
Win ME = Windows 6

that makes Win XP windows 7.

Well how about this?

Win 95 = Windows 4.0
Win 98 = Windows 4.1
Win ME = Windows 4.2
Win XP = windows 5.0
Vista = Windows 6.0

But then where does Windows 2000 go in the master numbering plan?:rolleyes:

"Windows Redemption", maybe, for some. But my Vista works fine, I'm happy with it, and as far as I can tell, the whole hate-Vista movement is mass hysteria with many people joining in the chorus without even having tried it. Ah, the internet! Wonderful how fast things spread, even if untrue.

I agree . . mine works fine and I have a dozen or so clients using it with no problems ( other than a learning curve ).

I think we're talking just the NT family. Best to forget the 9x kernel to avoid nightmares.
