One system has XP and the one with 98. The computer with 98 has the modem (and uses compuserve). Both computers are networked together. How can I connect them both to the internet at the same time (using compuserve?)? Thanks in advance for the help.

Didn't noticed that earlier. You said that the Win98 has the modem. SInce the PC w/ the Win98 has the modem, there's a feature in Win98 in sharing the internet connection. That should answer your problem.

On the 98 machine, start button, settings, control panel, add/remove programs, windows setup.......go to the internet tools.......do you have internet connection sharing installed?

BTW, this will slooooooowwwwwww your connection down to a crawl with more than one computer connected to the internet.....
