After plugging a camcorder into a USB port (and successfully downloading from it) I have a continuous loop of 'New Hardware Found' alerts, even after power off and reboot. Presumably a flaky connection has stacked a huge number of interrupts - far more than I can clear by clicking on the alert each time it appears. Does anyone know a way to clear the stack?

Device manager refreshing every 3 seconds. Went to Portable Device>MTP Device and selected Uninstall Driver. That's got rid of the interrupts, but it's bedtime. Tomorrow, I'll plug in the camcorder again and see if reinstalling the MTP driver works (i.e. that XP hasn't "helpfully" ssve and reinstated the stacked interrupts...)
