I have an Ipod shuffle (2nd generation). It's plugged into the cradle and charging. In computer, I see "apple Ipod Music Player", but when I go to hit mount, it says, "unable to mount media. There is probably no media in the drive.

What can I do to get it to mount?

    Thanks.

Check to make sure you have libipod installed... the name for this package in the package manager may be different in each distribution.

Also, this may be a problem with hal/dbus permissions. Check your /etc/groups file to make sure your user is in the plugdev group. If not, you can add the user like this:

    usermod -G plugdev username

    Again, YMMV
