I have Outlook 2010. Until recently, the email address I use the most would
automatically download any emails received every so often. Lately, it doesn't do that.

I went to File-->Options-->Advanced & clicked on Send/Receive. There I made sure that
my main email address was part of on of the groups listed. Then I set that group to
check & download emails every 15 minutes. However, it still is not doing that . How do
    I fix this? Thank you.

Did you set this in the online or offline area of the Send/receive pane?

    Dave,
I'm not sure what you mean by the online or offline area. What are those?

I had Outlook 2010 open. I went to the "file" tab, the "options" link, then the "advanced" link, then the
send/receive button. This opens a box where I can select check boxes &
set the time intervals at which I want to check my inbox & download any emails
    in it.

Well, I haven't heard anything further. But my Outlook
is working now. I don't know why it wasn't working. And
I don't know why it is back to working again, but it is.
(When I say working, I mean automatically checking &
downloading new emails in my inbox.)

Some times a MS product just needs a kick in the backside.
That is what may have happened when you clicked your way into the above settings and the OK'd yourself out.

My outlook 2010 is doing it again. It is not
automatically checking for new emails received
    and downloading them. I don't know what's
    going on.
