Overtimes, I try to upload some music or pictures, but msn give me a slow transfer rate. It says that i am behind a firewall, and that if I want the connection speed to increase I would have to take off the firewall. I don't know what is causing this firewall to keep acting up, but is there a way i can turn it off ?, I am Using windows XP ..

If anyone can help me out i'd really appreciate it.

Do you have SP2 on your XP OS? If so it has a firewall in it. to view the firewall setings go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Windows firewall

In there you can turn it on or off.

Now if you are behind a DSL/ISP like SBC they have a hardware firewall in front of you and have a software and a hardware firewall can cause you problems, and microsoft recommends you turn off the software firewall if you are behind a hardware firewall. Seek information from your DSL/ISP

    I hope this helps.

If you have MS-XP SP2 installed and the MS firewall is turned on; go to the Contol Panel | Select Firewall | turn it OFF. After you transfer data, Turn it back ON.

If you have a firewall in your modem (like a DSL modem) go to the Modem software and turn the fire wall OFF. After you transfer data, Turn it back ON.

or use the software to permit transfers from the date site. Refer to the User Guide or Help file.
