Completed instructions (carefully) in setting up simple network. Desktop computer (100mbps) connected to LAN. Client is laptop (10mbps). Both have netbeui.
What do I do on the laptop to see if I can connect to the internet? Tried using IE. Nothing happens.
Using D-link router (want to add another computer later).
On desktop Network shows two connections - one to iNet and one to Laptop. Laptop only shows one connection. ???
Couldn't find any info on how to test/use it? Thanks.

Go to network neighborhood and see if the computers can see each other for a start.
