I only have 512 mb ram. My present pagefile is in a separate partition, but it's not enough for history files for Photoshop using large graphics. Very slow. But I have 160 gig external hd that I would like to use for pagefile. How do I move present one, or do I just make a new folder on z and name it pagefile and the system will start using it? I would love to upgrade ram, but not possible at the present time.

I'd suggest more RAM. If you're really hitting the swap file that hard, it's got to be PAINFULLY slow. :) Another 512mb would do wonders for performance.
