I have 3 computers. I would like to take xp Professional along with everything else from one (A)computer and put everything plus the operating XP Professional onto a laptop (B) which is running on XP Home

Now I have another computer (C) that I would like to move everything to the (A) computer because it (A) has more memory.
Now everthing that was on the Laptop (B) I would like to put onto the (C) computer. The (C) computer will take the place of the laptop (B) computer.

    (A) is running on XP Professional
    (B) is running on XP Home
    (C) is aslo running on XP Home
    Confusing?
I know I'll have to start with buying a separate external drive to begin the process. But what about how Xp knows what computer is already using the registered version?
    Thanks for any help available!

Won;t really work that way since the hardware is different and you may have major problems if you do move it. The XP activation is another roadblock that will prevent this from happening. I would strongly suggest against it.

    o.k.
I think I have this right. Copy all folders from C to B and all the folders will be the same on both drives. Copy b to a and all folders will be the same. You cannot copy the Operating System from computer to computer unless all hardware components are the same.

It is possible, however it will be a LOT of work; in addition you will have the problem of activation. You will also need software such as Ghost, Drive Image or Acronis True Image. As long as you process a license for each of the computers you are going to use the os on, I can post instructions. After a mod reviews this thread and approves, I can post the way to do this. Again, I would just install the os on each computer since it will involve more work than a clean install.
