how do i network my vista pc with my xp pc

    hi, new vista user and cant get my vista pc to recognize my other xp pcs.


    any ideas?

    You are going to either have to download the newest version of the programs or patches for them OR you are going to have to buy the new software if it is even available for Vista yet. :)

    no, i want to be able to network the pcs together. nothing to do with programs

    I completely had an ADD moment lol disregard that haha omg I feel like a retard..As far as networking the PCs goes, just download the proper version of the software for the PC and it SHOULD work fine. I don't see why the OS's would conflict if it's going through a router and it's being read by it.

    vista has its downfalls, and apparently easy networking is one of them

    All of my Vista machines found the network right away. What do you get when you right click the Network Icon in the systray and select Network and Sharing Center?

    This doesn't take any software. In Network and Sharing center allow sharing and change of files and then click on View Computers and Devices..it's so easy.

    Be sure the "network name" is tyhe same on both computers.

    Not the network name, the "workgroup" name must be the same.
