I have a Lexmark all-in-one printer/scanner/copier and it also has a program that says I can send & receive faxes using my pc's modem....I tryed faxing something this morning & it kept saying that there was no line available...I am wondering if it is because I have DSL ?? Can someone help me figure out the problem or atleast explain to me how the fax using your modem thing works?!
Thanks!

When I switched to Broadband which I think is the same as DSL I found I could no longer send faxes as this requires a dial up connection, however by unplugging the broadband and reconnecting the old modem to the 'phone line I can send

You can send a FAX using DSL but the recipient needs to be able to ACCEPT the FAX through an internet connection unless you use software that will dial that FAX telephone number.
