I've been interested in setting up a home network lately but I don't have the know how. I've got 2 computers, 1 upstairs and the other downstairs. The one downstairs has XP Pro and the other has XP home.

I'd like to have a wireless setup so I don't have to run any cords but I don't know what hardware I need. If any body can help I'd appreciate it if you would be very specific on what hardware I need. And "no" I do not have a broadband connection just 56k and I don't need to share the connection, I just want to transfer files between computers.

You just need a pair of wireless NICs that support ad-hoc connection mode, it'll be just like a wire. There are some really good deals on USB wireless NICs floating around lately...
