I have a ton of docs in GD, but when I go to open them remotely, they will come up, but I can't "open" them and work on them. That is, they will open in the GD window, I can read them, there's a print option, etc, but you can't just open it in Word, say, so you can work on it.

This has to be simple, but I'm confused.

You have to download them first.

I don't understand what the problem is. You have Google docs. You open, edit, save, etc. If you want to open them in Word, you have to download them. Then they won't be in Google docs.

Pick a horse. Can't ride both.

Thanks, I know how to download a document. I didn't see an option for that; that was what was strange. I looked everywhere.....maybe I just didn't see it somehow....believe me, I figured it must be the easiest thing in the world; heck, I can read all these docs on my phone......

I'll figure it out tomorrow and report back. Probably I'm doing something dumb (that would be a first. :)

Check the box next to the document. Then click the More button, and click Download.
