Right now, I'm trying to put together about 16 different sets of notes from three of my friends written in Word into one document so I don't have to have 16 windows open at the same time (very hard to do on a 15" screen). So I copy and paste the first set of notes(written in outline form, using a custom "outline numbered" style) into a blank document. I then insert a section break, copy another set of outlined notes from a different user, and so on.
All is fine.
Then, I get back to another set of notes in outline form, written by friend #1, which this time is formatted according to a user-defined list style, which he has called "Harvard". As I paste this into my document, the outline style switches from "Harvard" to the first outline style he used, and words are all out of place.
No matter how hard I try, I can't get this "Harvard" style to appear in my blank document to apply to this last outline. I've already tried going through styles and formatting, showing all custom, applying those to the template, but to no avail. Restarting the numbering (letters switch to numbers and pick off where the other left off) does not work either. It restarts the numbering but does not revert my list style.
Any? Ideas?

Just as a quicky. I would normally Insert the file rather than copy and paste.

So place cursor where you want the file to appear then click on the menu Insert, File and select the file you want to bring in. It comes into the document the way it was formatted, assuming you have the font styles on your machine.

Without examples to work to it is difficult to know if that is the problem.
