I was looking at some graphic cards and I came across these.

    My card:

    Chipset:GeForce 6600 GT
    Memory: 128MB
    DX Version:9.0c
    Core Speed:500MHz
    Memory Speed:1000MHz
    Bus Width: 128bit
    Pixel Pipelines/TMU:8x1

    And here's the other:

    Chipset:GeForce 6800GT
    Memory: 256MB
    DX Version:9.0c
    Core Speed:350MHz
    Memory Speed:1000MHz
    Bus Width:256bit
    Pixel Pipelines/TMU:16x1

Now just by looking at the 6800GT with its memory, bus width, and pipelines, it's obviously a better card. But I noticed that the 6600GT has a faster Core speed. Is that better than the 6800GTs? And could you help explain a little to me? Thanks.

The 6600's core is a simpler chip so can run at a higher clock speed, the 6800 is still faster, the 6600 would have to run at 700MHz to equal it.
