How make a a swith out of a router

    Hi guys, I've got an smc 7004VBR router.
    but now i get 2 ip's from my cable company and want to use the router as a switch only.(it has a built in switch)
    does anyone of u know how to make a switch of the router?

    Why does everyone think they need more than one IP address from their ISP? Unless you are running servers, just take the one address, and use your router/NAT to put as many boxes on your own network as you want.

    If you are running a server offering something to the Internet, hence the reason for the second IP address, just do a static NAT using the second address pointing to the respective server's private IP address.

    Otherwise there is no need for the second address.
