I have only recently started using "archiving" to manage files. I couldnt talk abt it or go thru documentation to understand how this works, also could not come across my question on the net.

I use 7-Zip to create *.7z archives & extract contents from others. And I wonder if there is a limit to the no. of times we can extract the contents from a "read only" *.7z file safely; & after which it does not extract anymore.

And does archiving change media files to some extent. (As Win Picture & Fax Viewer software changes the image files that are tilted using it.)
