I have a computer that I need to reformat. I need to save the outlook emails so that I can restore Outlook to it's original state after reformatting.

I tried making a backup of all of the Documents and Settings folders, including the .pst files. But I can't seem to figure out how to get everything restored to original state.

This will give you the basic information you need to backup and restore.

I can't seem to figure out how to get everything restored to original state.
Have you done the flatten and reload? If so you may just need to repoint Outlook to your pst file. I hope that url will help you.
