I have a number of jpeg pics that I wish to change the ‘date taken’ information on.

I have downloaded a program called ‘File tweak’ that will change the ‘date created’ and ‘date modified’ info on the file etc but it won’t allow me to change the ‘date taken’.

Does anyone know of an application that will do this.

    thanks

Why would you want to change the exif info of the date a picture was taken?

........because i went on a holiday to Europe and i took pics with my camera and my wife took some with her camera. The date on her camera was incorrectly set to 2020. I want to combine all pics from both cameras into one folder and be able to sort them in correct date order.

Hope that makes sense but it did work.

in my case...it matters because programs like Picassa use that data to sort pictures by date...so it would make sense to have pictures with the same exif data to view/organize them chronologically.

I've had to change the dates on pictures, since not every one sets the date on the camera. The sync program I use checks the date and the size to sync, and if the date is in the future, you can never sync.

There are lots of practical reasons to want to change the date on a file...

There is a program called "Properies Plus" that will do this too. It is freeware.

Just asking John so you can ask me why I want to know.

I know I took my battery out and if it is out more then 3 or 4 days you lose your date info and I took picture and they had the wrong date.
So I also had a date that was not right showing up and I think no time.

My point was, why would you care why he wanted to change the date. There's no reason to grill someone on the reason why they want to do something, unless it's a likely illegal activity. I doubt changing the date on some photos is an illegal activity. ;)
