how to change root directory?!?!

I booted into a ms-dos floppy disk, and is wondering if i can and how to "cd c:\".
i did a little research and tried on my vista's cmd. cd c:\ doesnt work but cd \d c:\ works. then i tried it on ms-dos floppy disk... it didnt work..
how can i change A:\ to C:\ on my ms-dos floppy disk?!?!:confused:
