    hey,

I have just downloaded netcat onto two laptops (both running windows xp home) in my network. I'm trying to learn how to connect the server and the client together. I've tried this:

    typed

nc -v -l -p 1234 on one laptop it then says 'listening on (any) 139...

    then i typed

nc -vv 192.168.1.3 1234 on the other one and it says

    connection refused.

So i scanned 192.168.1.3 to find an open port. 139 was open. So i tried again with nc -vv 192.168.1.3 139 and this time it said netbios-ssn open. But i can't send messages between the client and server... am i doing something wrong?
