I've lost the security key to the d-link router. So i can't connect my new laptop to the internet.

I've got a vista laptop, a d-link router and a vista desktop which is connected to the modem and router.

    can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Login to the router. If the encryption key is displayed you have your answer. If it is not displayed enter a new one (and remember it). Use WPA(2)-PSK if possible; Vista seems to not like WEP very well.

What's the exact make, model, and hardware revision of the router?

The hardware revision is on the same label you find the model number on the bottom of the router.
