How to copy a CD ( or DVD ) on hard drive

    Usually I can copy a CD ( or DVD ) on my hard drive by using copy/paste.
    With some DVD's I run into problems and therefore I wonder if there are
    better methods available.The problem is that it indicates 20 secs remaining but then
    the computer freezes,the DVD turns and turns.
    I use Windows XP.

    Some DVD's are copy protected, not sure if this is your issue or not.

    Maybe the DVD is damaged?

    Creating an image is not the same thing as copying the contents. The problem is almost certainly related to copyright issues.
