Hi I have a karaoke VCD and the files are in .dat format. I wish to copy some of these karaoke videos into my nokia handphone (nokia 6120). What should I do.

I have Adobe Premiere pro 1.5. but they do not support importing of .dat files.

    Thanks

First, you'll need to download this utility:

    http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/svcdtools/vcdgear355.zip

This will allow you to extract the MPEG stream from the DAT file. With this, you can then convert it into the appropriate video format, which should be 3GP.

One program that you can do this with is called SUPER. Here's a direct download link for that as well:

    http://download.videohelp.com/download/SUPERsetup200723.exe

You might have to scale the video down to a more appropriate size that will accomidate the small screen of your cell phone (for your phone, the resolution is 320 x 240). Scaling can also be done on the fly with SUPER.

If you have any other questions, please PM me.

Open/explore VCD in your computer. Transfer the DAT files into your Hard Disk, rename the DAT files into mpeg then use any converter such as mention above or use Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter.
