I used the hdd from my old laptop to create an external hard drive, but when I plug it in it shows as 4 different drives in my computer. I want to format it, but I wouldn't know how to go about it because of the multiple drives. Their names and size are: SYSTEM (D: ) 198 MB, Local disk (E: ) 445 GB, Recovery (F: ) 20,4 GB and HP_TOOLS (G: ) 99,0 MB. As you can guess the pc I used for this drive was an HP, to be specific an HP pavillion g6 -2005sd. If you need additional information please say so. I just want it to be 1 drive but I don't know if this is possible.

    Press [Ctrl][Esc], type in:

    diskmgmt.msc

    and press [Enter].

Delete each of the four partitions on that hard drive, then recreate a single partition and format it.
