How to get rid of desktop item?

    Please help. I recently downloaded something called goggle desktop search box and now I can't delete it!
    It sits on my desktop and it is really annoying.

    Right click on the desktop search box and see if there is an "options" section and exit it. Then look in your Add\Remove in control panel and remove it. If nothing there go to "Start" and look for it under Programs and see if there is an uninstall.

    Sounds like you want to search without open a browser. If so right click your bottom toolbar and highlight "Toolbar" then put a check in "Address". This with give you an address bar that if you type in "Find", "Go" or a "?" mark and a search word or phrase it will go to a preselected search engine. See the image below.

    If that doesn't fix it then download a scan as well as copy and paste the log from hijack this. .
