If you check out the below image of windows default Internet connection status dialer. You see that Sent Compression is 67% but Receiving compression is only 2%. What's the meaning of this and we can improve or increase the receiving compression. In my system Windows XP SP1, IE6 is installed. And i already increase the port speed of my modem (Com3) to 115200 BPS.
You apparently do more receiving than downloading. Almost everything that you are "sending" is an acknowledgement that you received the packet. These acknowledgements can be compressed much more than the data itself, therefore you will only get a 2%-3% receive compression, but a much higher send compression.
that means we cant increase the receiving speed. And it doesn't matter what speed we are receiving like 2% or 3%.
