    Well, this "might" work for Windows 98, but it won't do a thing for any NT based system. I think even with W98 you may run into issues.

    A much simpler way is to use the disk image utility that most major drive makers supply for free to move the O/S over, and it work with all versions of Windows.

    It will work for 98. It would probalby work on NT based systems if you go in to repair afterwards and reset the Boot sector and MBR

    Use windows start up disk,boot to a dos prompt and type
    xcopy c:\ d:\/h/i/c/k/e/r/y/s
    and replace old with new as master [should work from start/run too]
    assuming old drive is C and new drive is D

    BTW No amount of copy software will work on XP as it invalidates the registration file on boot up if its a different hard drive and gives an 0x80090006 error.
