How to Password protect a web page

    Good day everyone , I have a simple 3 page webe site that I host myself I would like to password protect one page. I have created the page using Microsoft Word and Im a real newbie to the whole thing ......any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and as always thanks in advance for your advice.

    For a truly effective password you would probably need to use CGI to process the request. You can search for CGI scripts on the web. If you just want something simple to stop some of the people you could use javascript, but this is not very secure, but is just a barrier. You can find some at www.codingforums.com, look in the "post a javascript" section for password.

    PHP or ASP will probably be your best bet since you're hosting the website yourself.

    If you require help writing the code for username/password validation just ask and I'm sure I or someone else here will help you.
