I am trying to paste an old 30 page doc onto a new document with a footer on every page. No matter how I experiment and follow the directions, the footer appears only on one page. I've tried to add the footer after I have copied the doc with no success. I then managed to place the footer on every empty page and when I applied the text, all the footers disappear! I admit that the original doc did have footers but I removed them before pasting - maybe that is the problem. I would appreciate any help you can give. I really don't want to retype this whole doc by hand!

Do you have section breaks at each page break?

first paste the old doc in
save the doc under a new name
open the new doc
then go to insert footer and select add footer and select the top option ( blank) type in the footer wording, close the footer insert box
save doc and when you reopen there should be footers on each page

Thank you Derek for your reply. I am quite sure your advice will help me. However in your instructions you use the term "select tom option (blank) type in footer wording". I followed you instructions up to that point but I don't understand the tom option. I cannot find anything like it on my computer. Could you please elaborate for me please.
