Hi,
I've just bought a Windows7 Netbook and would like to re-use an old desktop IDE DVD Burner, as it seems to be a waste to buy a new one if I can convert it to USB.
I've bought an IDE to USB converter (VE328 from USBNow) which appears to work. The drive is detected but only works as a DVD read only drive. The Drive Unit is an Iomega 8x4x32 and shows up in the Device Manager as IOMEGA ZIPCD1024INT-A USB Device.
Does anyone know why this is not being seen by the system as a burner?
Regards
Dave
