There is a really nice program called Total Recorder that will record any streaming audio.

    http://www.highcriteria.com/

When I downloaded it the price was $19.99 or close and well worth it!

For some .asx and most Real streams (not live streams, though) Streambox VCR (version 1.0 beta 3) works great. For some asf streams, get ASF Recorder.

Both are fairly easy to find if you look around on Google for a few minutes. I prefer them to programs that simply record the audio, as they can save the video as well as audio, and they actually save the stream to your hard drive, rather than just recording the audio that comes out of your sound card.

Real7ime Convertor will also get Real streams, including live ones. It uses lots of memory, though, if you are recording something long.
