What I'm trying to do is just set an event on the calendar as an appointment and then have a reminder sent to me one week before.

I thought I had set it up but I haven't received any type of reminder (not sure if it will be an email or a popup alert of some kind) for a test that I set up.

The default reminder is set for 15 minutes in Options - Calendar - Calendar options but I know you can change that for each individual appointment that you set up.

So I'm not sure what I did wrong.

Also, how do you access the calendar without having to turn the ToDo bar on which takes up a lot of the screen on the right side?

Yes, thanks. It turns out I didn't have "calender" showing at the bottom on the left side as shown in your first screenshot but I clicked on the downward arrow to add more options and was able to add it so that solves that problem.

As for the other screenshots, that's exactly what I've done but never received any reminder.

What type of reminder is sent? Is it an email or a popup alert?

1) It will play a sound (can be set at the bottom of the reminder drop down)
2) The application logo on the task bar will flash orange
3) you will recive a pop up like this:

Thanks. I've set up another test for later on today so I'll see if it works. :)

Go to file > options > advanced > reminders

Check if "Show reminders" is ticked

Bingo! It was unchecked. I checked it and set up another test appointment for 11:00 a.m. to be reminded in 5 minutes and the reminder just popped up.

Thank you very much! (y)
