I recenly got a new laptop, it's an HP dv1000 series. The max screen resolution is 1280x768, but it can be set much higher for external monitors. While I was at the store where I bought it they had one on display that was operating with a very high screen resolution on the normal display, and the screen would just scroll around when your cursor reached the edge.

I am wondering how I can do this on my laptop.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Control Panel - Display - Settings

Increase the resolution on the slider, some laptops will then scroll the display to accommodate it (the screen resolution does not change it becomes a window on a larger screen that scrolls)

I cannot really see any advantage in this, but it might work on your model.
