how to set the file always view as list mode?

    I don like vista determine the file view mode automatically, I want the files always shown in list mode, or other fixed mode, is it possible?:confused:

    Set up Windows Explorer the way you want and the in the Tools, Folders Option, then the View tab, select "Apply to All folders" and OK yourself out. Now close Windows Explorer and open it back up and your settings should be as saved.

    But it doesnt work, I dont know why, but it always change back . So strange.

    You will only see the tools menu if you have enabled the tool bar which is turned off by default in windows vista.
    From Windows Explorer, you will find it under Organize...Folder and search Options...then view tab.

    Yes, i know this, and click Yes, when asked if apply to all folders. But the result is not what I expected.
