Ok so, in Windows 7, when my computer monitor goes on standby, I get the user icon and have to click it to get back in. It's pretty annoying especially when I go to bed and am trying to run a backup and after some time it stops anything from running until I click to log back in that user.

I'm the only one on my pc, so I don't even care about the users thing.. How do I fix it?

In the settings for your screensaver uncheck the box next to "On resume, display logon screen". And in Power Options Advanced settings, choose "No" for Require a password on wakeup.

Windows 7 gets easier after a couple of months using it. After switching from XP it took a while to get used to the idea that the administrator has limited privileges.
