I'm sitting here watching Norton do a virus check and it's up to 40k files scanned. I'd like to know how many files are on this C drive! WinXP, it shows MB used but not number of files. How?

gawd, its been forever since ive actually used dos in a manner like this.. took me a couple times but I remebered the format..

    dir /s /b C:\ |find /c "\"

type that at command prompt and you will get a full count of files on drive C:

now remember that norton also checks the registry keys, and I have no idea how to count lines in that..
