My brother friend was messing with the router and he turned off all the wired ports on the router. The wireless connection still works but the wired doesnt. My router is a actiontec MI424WR

I have not seen a router where it is possible to turn off the wired ports. Maybe ask your brother's friend what he did so you can un-do it.

Try the reset described. If that doesn't fix them, I'd suspect that the router is broken, not simply mis-configured.
