Hey Guys. I'm new here. Not sure if posting here will even help but its worth a try.

I've been dating a guy for 3 years and unfortunately for me, he has ended up being a crazy one. We broke up a few months ago and I have been getting a lot of random emails and having some stalker type issues.
The most recent one was a guy telling me that he was going to ruin my life and every relationship I have had because I'm a horrible person. (insert meaner words here)
Whoever it is has made up fake profiles, stalked me on my modeling site, stalked me through gmail and when I block the emails, he just makes up another one. I don't feel that calling the cops would do anything because I honestly have no idea who this could be although I'm 99 percent sure it is my ex.

I have tried to trace the emails ip addresses but he has used a ymail account and all the traces say that they are coming from sunnyvale california which I know that isn't where the location is.
Is there anyway to uncover a hidden ip address?
I'd really like to know if this person is in my city or how close they are to me, whether I should feel in danger, etc.
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

you cannot trace emails coming from yahoo mail
they all will come from sunnyvale California, which is where yahoo servers are based

yahoo use a webmail system that doesn't add a header showing the originating IP, which is why spammers use it so much

Apart from that we can't offer any advice except to say contact the Authorities in your area
Online stalking is as much of a crime as stalking in real life and the police or FBI, will have to investigate. The police/FBI do have powers and the ability to track emails sent via yahoo & get information from yahoo about the sender

Sorry can't help any more and we will have to close this before any incorrect advice is given
